Tips for New Users
We've been around for years – and many of our users have been around for several of them! Spank! may seem a little cliquish to begin with, but after only a couple of days most people are totally welcomed in!
Here are some suggestions that have made people welcomed very quickly. There's no need to follow them, but most of the user on the site appreciate any effort you make to follow some of them:
- Please use proper spelling and punctuation. This means no netspeak and means learning to embrace the apostrophe. I know it's sometimes a pain, but the extra effort made will go a long way in becoming accepted on this site.
- Don't come out swinging. If you're aggressive to other users, they'll be aggressive right back. And then the moderators will have to break it up, and that doesn't really make anyone happy.
- Keep it brief. As much as I hate to admit it, we have the attention spans of gnats. Long drawn out posts will likely turn off users to a thread, and will minimize your chances of getting truly decent responses.
- Get to know the site. Feel free to lurk and learn how things are done before jumping into being an active user. Chances are, this will help you learn the ropes, and will prevent you from committing any big faux pas.
- Take advantage of the HappyRandom forum – it's specifically set aside where no bashing or personal attacks are allowed! It was designed for both new users to get familiar with Spank!, and our long time users who just want positive feedback from a post!
If you're totally at a loss – the Spank! Support Forum is a great place to seek assistance from a moderator (all who were picked agreeing to assist new users get through the first hiccups of joining!).
Yours,
Canadaboy (founder) & the Spank! Moderators
